Hello everybody, just siigned up! Does anyone have successful groups that meet up locally on a regular basis? If so, any recommendations on how to get them started and remain successful? What's your group called? Thanks in advance!

I've been writing personal messages to people near me, which doesn't seem to be working as none of them write back. It's making me feel like they're too cool for me or something. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

the pc is behaving strangely as you can see!, What I meant to convey to you is that this happens quite often. Especially when things get real. My own experience, which is not to load on the new enlightened and natural love-warrior spirits, but there is an inverse proportional law, the 'realer' it gets, the fewer step up to the plate. That has to be OK, although - emotionally, it does not feel too good. What we do not know is what value any 'interested's' would have were they to come over all enthusiastic-like, sometimes solid, small and steady is of inestimable value. There is also a titanic effort by many to avoid the 'showdown' - the inevitable! They have learnt so many tricks to hide from reality, to hide from themselves, they are terrified of the consequences of deep exposure - their cognitive dissonance - something we are all forced into to an extent albeit some of us cope with it better than other - is placing them into meltdown. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a mahatma - it pisses me off - I don't want it to, but I feel desperation in things, when things were much better for me I felt it dragging at my conscience spurring me into action, when they were'n't good - and there has been much heavy weather for my art-hungry psyche, I have been the recipient of travails .. its been that way for years. The fact is that the time is coming that those apocalyptic words in every mystery school and exoteric faith will multiply in resonance. This time will truly set aside the wheat from the chaff - not my wish, brother, that's the way it is. Keep on Gary, to thine own self be true. You are needed, your passion, humanity, love and sacrifice, I don't think anything is wasted - somehow, it is helping bring the changes ... this is a cosmic karmic battle - (I perceive it so) I'm non-plussed like most, have barrels of theories and speculations, insights and a smattering of mystical experiences/revelations - of a kind. But I know, when my sister, brother, or child anywhere suffers, that suffering is mine, as well as is their joy. None of this hedonistic new ager bull of 'The Secret' or the nonsensical nonse of 'A Course in Miracles'. These are an anathema to compassion, sacrifice, honour and dharma- right action. Chapter 13 of the Chandogya Upanishad I believe talks of the means of realising ones intentions (it was a long time ago), but what it does not say is that things untoward cannot always be circumvented. In the end, there are few if any shortcuts, and the truth in my own life is in terms of the refinement of spirit that the deepest voices in me long for, has benefitted from strife and struggle, the polishing of the stone ... soothsayers and scientologically minded are charlatans in my opinion and experience ... a long time ago I was taken to a monks retreat in the forest, in the center of their austere and peaceful buildings was a tower with an inscription upon it, "Why seekest thou repose - thou art born for labour'. Spirit be with you brother and all here and beyond - Seb

That's funny you mention the Curse in Miracles, I took that in my twenties, and one day I left it on my pillow on my bed and went to another room. There was a loud noise! I came back and a pipe had burst in the ceiling, drenching the book, but with only enough water so that the book was ruined. The pillow wasn't even wet! Somehow I didn't get the message though-- that the Course in Miracles was "all wet"-- and I went back and completed the course, wasting a lot of time and going in the wrong direction. It was probably a decade later that I learned about William Thetford and the MK Ultra connection to the Course.

I like your stories - they have a natural humour within their salient truths - 'Curse in Miracles'!

I too have begun conversations with folk and then don't hear from them again, but figured it was just that my way of presenting info was not in tune with what they were looking for. I can see that
Seb's explanation as possible as well
